For the school website, it would be great to include a clip of our science fair participants as they demonstrate their experiment and answer questions about the process and results.
ReplyDeletePerhaps it would be easier if our school establishes a website and include a link to a blog where each grade level and special program teachers could do their postings.
I learned how to organize bookmarks on Delicious! yay AND we tried to get our school website up.
ReplyDeleteDelicious is my new favorite thing! I can save my bookmarks and be able to access it from anywhere!
ReplyDeleteteachertube, edublog, proteacher, delicious, bits b bytes---my head is spinning! These are great publishing tools for any educator to use, however, as stated in class..."the key is to start small and make it meaningful." Then, explore more when you are comfortable. Tonight's highlight--creating my web site for my school. Totally awesome! Can't wait to share...
ReplyDeleteBev says: I am loving this class! I enjoyed all the websites that I can use in my class next school year. I also liked all the extra sites! =)
ReplyDeleteThanks you for sharing all the websites that we can utilize in our classrooms. I found out that some of the PowerPoint presentations that I found online came from one of the websites that were introduced. :) I will probably spend the rest of my free time in figuring out how to use these tools in my class. :)
ReplyDeleteLorna A. says: Posting is going very slowly today. Each attempt I'm making is getting shorter and shorter. Today's session was very stimulating! Kudos Professor Baird. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLorna A.says: Voice Thread/Picturing Writing;
ReplyDelete8 and 9 year old students share their poems and paintings--awesome stuff!!! I was very impressed. Learning application ongoing!
There were plenty of interesting tools that we were introduced to today. Prezi and delicious is something that I already use in my classroom as well as for personal use. Teachers should make time to check out these different websites to keep them updated on the latest, cool, engaging tools they can use to supplement their teaching.
ReplyDeleteToday's class was more engaging because we were exposed to a variety of different online resources to use in the classroom. Although we use many of these in our classrooms already, it's nice to know that these resources are being used by more and more teachers.
ReplyDeletePlenty of useful websites. Using these websites mean we need to have proper discussions with the students about safety on the web and all the problems that can come with it.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Ryan
Elena: More useful info.
ReplyDeleteToday's class session was very informative.... I wasn't aware about all the different types of bullying.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the knowledge :)

Learning where to find sites for PLNs and PDNs
ReplyDeleteis a great way to get ideas that I could use in
my classroom.
Added more bookmarks to my Delicious list. They are resources that I can use. Thank you for sharing the different websites.
ReplyDeleteToday's class was informative...lots of websites that have useful resources that teachers can use.
ReplyDeleteThe websites today was overwhelming. There are just too many sites that we can use as educators. I know that I will find at least two tools that would benefit me as an educator to use in my classroom.
ReplyDeleteSo many sites to explore! I already have a bunch of them in mind to look at and use.
ReplyDeleteHoping that one day I will actually have enough access in my classroom to involve ALL my students instead of having them take turns on one computer that is slow and outdated.
Thanks for the info.
I enjoyed Ms. Rodriquez's demonstration of her use of Prezi; it is certainly a step up from the typical power point.
ReplyDeleteDigital Publishing is another form of networking. It is a wise useful source for teachers to share their ideas through the WORLD WIDE WEB. One of the topics was CYBERBULLYING. It is a fact that students in the elementary level have been counseled and disciplined because of CYBERBULLYING. Mrs. Griffin and Tom discussed how educators can detect the eight different kinds of CYBERBULLYING. Before tonight, I had limited knowledge of CYBERBULLYING and after tonight, I am aware that it exists.
ReplyDeleteI set up my first blogger. Wow! I still need to fix it up but I finally created one. Lots more to learn and a whole summer to do it. Thanks again for all the great, powerful, and plenty information. Have a great summer!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, a very fun class. Also very informative. We found very good sites that can be used in the classroom and by students.
ReplyDeleteLots of information to look at! Would like to see a follow up program, maybe at the school site. That would really put it in our classrooms.
ReplyDeleteI hope that we will get all the stuff to make it happen.
I love this class, I learned a lot just in a short time
ReplyDeleteVisited The Center for Writing Studies and liked it. Clicked on "Brown Bag Series" and chose a topic that interested me, Goals of a Writing Assignment. The one I can immediately use is "Writing Assignments that Help Students Learn".
ReplyDeleteIt was very interesting i learned new things on that dang keyboard: PRT SCR!... and finally always wondered how to grab a portion of a screen....
ReplyDelete671MATHPINOY!
Good class today. Learned a lot, just need to go home and practice.

ReplyDeleteI'm still amazed at the sites I haven't heard about until now. I consider myself "tech savvy" and continue to enjoy this class. Thank you Prof. Baird.
I finally have a blog spot. I didn't think that I would ever have one. It's great! I'm glad I took this class.
ReplyDeleteThanks for giving us time to explore. Got to be more creative with my blogspot- thanks to the help of my neighbors in this class. Learning so much more-overwhelmingly more! Could be on these sites forever!
ReplyDeleteWow, I finally have a blogspot. I'm glad I signed up for this class.
ReplyDeleteDay 4 of Information overload but LOVING every second of it!! I learned that blogging is addicting but it's great because it exercises the brain!!I am so excited to have my students create their own blog on kidblog.org!!
ReplyDeleteI have never used a blog. I got great ideas on how to improve my blogspot. I plan to do more with it in the future.
ReplyDeleteToday's lesson and activities were on expansion of
ReplyDeleteblogging and getting informed of other websites on digital purposes.
Wow, after this class, I believe I will come back to this blogspot for refernce. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteToday I got to spend more time to work on my blog-spot. It is a lot of work, but I am excited to achieve this goal.
ReplyDeleteBlogging was fun today. Looking forward to finding a site to connect w/other counselors.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe I'm actually blogging! It seems kind of weird, but I think I can get used to it!
ReplyDeleteCreating a blogspot was actually fun. I thought I knew a lot about technology but I was wrong! I am learning so much in class from Excel to Personal Learning Networks. Now I just need to meaningfully apply what I'm learning.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many tools out there on the internet that I need to take a vacation and spend all my time just searching the internet. Thanks for all the resources. And thanks for jing. I've been looking for something like that.
ReplyDeleteToday was very informative! I learned so many things that I'm still trying to soak them all in. One thing I know...is I will continue to use blogger! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteEven though I use technology often, I have never opened up my very own blog site. So I'm glad that I was able to do so today! ^_^
ReplyDeleteP.S. Thank you for exposing me to Jing! :D I love it!
I'm having fun learning how to blog. It takes awhile to be comfortable with it. I'll explore more and see what happens!!
ReplyDeleteMore blogging today! Thanks for introducing us to all these sites. I can see myself surfing for hours!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to explore these new (to me) resources on my own. So glad I took this class.
ReplyDeleteSo many sites to choose from! I really enjoyed working on blogs.
ReplyDeleteGetting more info everyday!!Sad that this class will be over tomorrow. It was cool that I learned how to create a new design on my blog page.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most difficult class of students to work with is 9th grade core subject repeaters. These resources have opened the door to making the class exciting, interesting, motivating, but most of all brings "fun" back into learning again.
ReplyDeleteI have learned so much with issuu.com, podcast in itunes, and blogger. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI have a personal website for my class. I have been trying to figure out how to really use it during the school year - especially for parents. I feel that I have a bit more knowledge and experience to truly make that happen after taking this class. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteNice class...learned a lot...
ReplyDeleteFrom Takae Shibasaki
ReplyDeleteMr. Robert Young's Gateway to Technology Assignment #4. I learned Tripod, Weebly, Kid blog, Word Press, and Prezi. They are all fantastic!!
