  1. Hafa adai, Grace! I think that the TTS tools will be a great addition for teachers to utilize in their classrooms. I hope to familiarize myself with the tools and modules that will be presented in the coming days. Thank you!

  5. We can use text processing in the classrooms creating newsletters. Also, students can create word lists in columns for their planning in writing class.

  6. the TTS tools will be great for my 5th grade students in that they can produce their essays in writing wings (SFA program). This program allows students to collaborate and/or edit their essays using text processing/"sharing." In addition, students can take ownership in creating a classroom newsletter monthly/quarterly. Awesome!!!

  7. I can see my 8-9 year old students getting excited about typing out their ideas in a Google document -- sharing and editing on the fly. They type at about ten words per minute at this point, but it sure beats rewriting and rewriting in script every time they make a mistake. (As they say, "the boring part.")Using Google document "sharing" will help keep the creative process fun and take away the drudgery. I see motivated, happy writers!

  8. TTS is great to use for weekly newsletters. I'd also use it for my weekly spelling words/lists

  9. I think it would be great to use TTS for the students who have difficulty with their fluency. They could listen to a story at a slower pace.

The students could also learn basic phrases of a foreign language.

In addition, the class as a whole could read a play and practice reading with expression.

  21. The class started out so smooth, but then I become so slow getting to the website on where the class were in. After a few minutes while Mrs. Grace was instructing and directing us to go to various website, it seems easier.
With the two helping us, Mrs. Grace and Mr. Tom it was much easier getting to where we were heading this night.
I created a short note to my students and I think it was so awesome. Although, I was unable to save it from the computer I am working on, but I will go home and work on it and print that out for my students before Thursday, May 26th, 2011.

Monday's class was fun. I learned about text to speech, hyperlinks, ways to manipulate Word documents, etc. I teach preschool and we often take dictation. I know the students will love hearing their thoughts recited to them via computer!
